Bryan Ashkettle
CONSULTANT: Bryan Ashkettle
Bryan Ashkettle is currently an AP US Government and Politics teacher at Solon High School near Cleveland, Ohio. This is his 30th year in the profession with 25 years’ experience teaching AP Government. He has been an AP Reader for 16 years and was hired by the College Board to be an AP Consultant. He is also an adjunct professor and educational consultant for Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. He received his PhD in 2014 from Kent State University. His research interest is self-study as a tool to better instructional practice. He is married to Stefanie, who is also a teacher, and they have three daughters, Jayla 12, Frankie 18, and Julia 20. He is a Cleveland sports fan, although he would not recommend it to anyone.
Course Description
The goal of this APSI is to provide you with the pragmatic lessons, content, instructional skills, and resources to better prepare your students for the AP US Government and Politics Course and Exam. This course will be extremely interactive and hands-on seeking participants to play the role of both student and teacher. Bryan Ashkettle will also send out a survey prior to addressing your needs, questions, and concerns to better your content knowledge and instruction. The instructor is very committed to making our week together as fun and useful as possible. He serves a facilitator to ready your class for the 2026 – 2027 school year. Bryan Ashkettle will work for you, not the other way around.
