COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The AP Capstone program invites students to become curious thinkers, confident writers, and skilled communicators. Through AP Seminar and AP Research, students explore real-world topics that matter to them, write original research questions, analyze multiple perspectives, complete scholarly research, and share their discoveries through writing and presentation. In AP Seminar, students learn to understand and analyze complex issues using academic sources in order to posit solutions to real-world problems while working individually and as a team. In AP Research, students design and carry out an independent, year-long study that culminates in a formal paper and an oral defense. These experiences strengthen academic and interpersonal skills that serve students across every subject and prepare them for the rigorous expectations of college and beyond.
